Location / Transport
The workshop will take place in Pestera, ROMANIA close to the famous Dracula Castle in Bran. Our workshops will take place in the recently renovated local school.
We have deliberately chosen the location for it's remoteness and beauty. This makes it a little challenging to reach, especially for those without cars.
Travelling from outside RomaniaBucharest is the closest major city (around 3,5 hours drive) and is well served with both regular and budget flights to it's two international airports as well as rail links to other European cities (if you have time on your hands!).
There are various options to get to Pestera depending on your budget and how much time you have. We recognise it might be a bit daunting to get around in an unfamiliar country and we will do our very best to assist.
When you make your booking we'll discuss with you the various options and how we can help.
Travelling from within RomaniaBrasov is the closest city (around 45 minutes drive) and has good rail and bus connections to the rest of the country. Taxis can take you to Pestera from the rail station.
If you are coming by car just let us know and we'll provide detailed directions.
Timing
We start on Friday 3rd September with registration and orientation at 15.30. The workshop starts at 16.00.
We finish on Sunday 5th September at 16.00.

Places are limited to 30 and full payment will guarantee your place on the workshop.
Food and accommodation
We can put you in touch with one of the local family run pensionats. As guidance you can expect to pay around
€75 to include:
- 2 nights at a family run guest house which are basic, clean, have shared bathrooms and are a short walk from the workshop location.
- all meals, starting with evening meal on 3rd September through to lunch on 5th September. Food will be all home-cooked with local produce and special dietary needs can be catered for (please tell the owner when booking!).
If you would prefer more luxurious accommodation their is a local hotel about 5 minutes drive from the workshop rooms. In this case, lunch and dinner can be taken with the rest of the group on a meal by meal basis plus a small charge for coffee/tea during the day.
Please bear in mind that there is limited accommodation in the area and is likely to get booked quite early.
What To Bring
We'll send more a detailed information package once you've booked your place.
This time of year is a very pleasant temperature in the mountains though it can get a little cooler in the evenings. Hill and mountain trekking are both possible here.
And important for some ... mosquitoes, while not unheard of, are extremely rare here.
Cancellation Policy
In the unlikely event we have to cancel the event then you will get a full refund.
You will also get a full refund if you cancel more than 3 weeks before the start.
In other cases we will only refund the fee if you find a replacement.
